A peaceful valley with stream and ponds, below Little Solsbury Hill.
Chilcombe Bottom is a tributary valley of the larger St Catherine’s Valley and is a pleasing balance of pasture and woodland lining the steeper slopes.
There is an area of limestone grassland and wetland habitat on the site of a former reservoir and the valley is dotted with springs.
Walking in the area includes both footpaths and sunken lanes with high hedges full of hedgerow plants.
