Walk 2 – Odd Down to Batheaston
The Circuit of Bath is a 20.5 mile walk that circumnavigates the City of Bath. This is the second, and longest, of three walks we are leading to take you round the route in an anti-clockwise direction. The walks will be linear, but walk leaders will guide you back to the start using public transport.
This section is the middle section. From Odd Down we are quickly rewarded with far reaching views as we head towards the Millennium Viewpoint. After which it is a long downhill to Combe Hay locks. We then follow the old Somersetshire Coal Canal to Dundas Aqueduct and then the Kennet and Avon canal to Bathampton. After which we cross Bathampton Meadows to finish in Batheaston.
This walk is 9.4 miles (15km) long and mostly flat after a steep downhill near the start. We will stop for coffee at Midford and then have lunch at Brassknocker Basin where food and drinks can be purchased from the Angelfish café, or you can bring a picnic to have by the canal.
Places are limited, and booking is essential.
Please note, the finishing time is approximate. We’ll be in touch just before the event with more information.
You’ll be guided round by Nicole Daw, Trails and Access Officer, Cotswolds Natural Landscape, and Steve Holbrow
