The benefits to children and young people of outdoor learning are well known. But sometimes it’s hard for teachers and educators to know where to start and to have the confidence to take lessons outdoors.
Bathscape and Avon Wildlife Trust have worked with local schools in Twerton to produce our outdoor learning pack for primary schools. It includes a step-by-step guide to taking learning outdoors, links to the curriculum, activities and lesson plans for trips to Carr’s Wood and Twerton Roundhill. We’ve also included a guide to making school grounds more wildlife friendly and some eye-catching posters.
All the resources can be found here and if local schools or community groups need additional resources, such as bug hunting kits, we might be able to help with that too. We’d love to hear how you get on with using them.
