This wildlife-rich hilltop comprises commonland fields and woodland. It has been managed by the Batheaston Freeholders Association for over 300 years.
The common is carefully managed to encourage species rich grassland, butterflies and other associated wildlife.
It’s within walking distance of Batheaston, to the north-east of the village. A circular walk from Batheaston could take in Bannerdown and the beautiful St Catherine’s Valley.
