A peaceful location near the village of Bathford with views looking across the Avon Valley towards Bath, Brown’s Folly is an Avon Wildlife Trust owned nature reserve surrounding a tower known locally as the Pepperpot.
It boasts a wonderful variety of rich wildlife habitats, with footpaths weaving between ancient woodlands, small cliff faces and the remains of old quarries.
The flora and fauna reflect the natural features and those relating to its industrial past with bats using the old mines and wildflowers, including nine species of orchid, using the former spoilheaps.
