Situated at the end of Great Pulteney Street and behind the Holburne Museum, Sydney Gardens is not only the oldest park in Bath, but it is also one of the most beautiful.
The historic pleasure gardens are currently being revitalised thanks to a National Lottery Heritage Fund grant. Visit the website to see more about the work, or keep up to date via Facebook.
A short stroll from the city centre, Sydney Gardens provide an accessible place to visit. You can join the Kennet & Avon Canal path from the rear of the Gardens.
For a slightly longer walk from here, pick up the National Trust’s Walk to the View and go up to Bathwick Fields, to enjoy the meadows and classic view of the city in its landscape.
